Sirius radio set up

Sirius radio set up

Postby Sap Z » Thu Apr 27, 2006 9:22 pm

hey guys - i've had sirius for a while now but the quality of sound has finally pissed me off. The reception is horrible. Oh my sirius is set up to send out a frequency which the stockj player radio picks up. So its the basic install.

I was wondering 0 how do i set up the direct connection. Where the sirius reciever is directly connected to the stocck CD player. I search but did not find anything.

So -what parts do i need and how do i do the set up. If u can guide me to a DIY that would be great too.

Thanks in Advance

To the best of my knowledge, you must buy a receiver made specifically to connect to your stereo. There is a plug on the back of the stereo that you connect it to. I have searched for something aftermarket and found nothing, only Toyota receivers...they are not really cheap. The cheapest I have found was $299.

Now, depending on your receiver, you may be able to rig some kind of input into your stereo and plug it in (something along the same lines of an iPod adapter). My satellite radio doesn't have an audio out plug...just some weird thing that the FM transmitter connects to. I guess you'd have to have some kind of audio out plug.

It's also my understanding that you cannot have a disc changer (not in dash changer) and the satellite connection...not 100% on that though.
