painting alternator?
well, I am thinking of painting my denso h.o. alternator red, to match a new color theme in my engine bay, but I am having problems getting the outside shell off...I removed all of the nuts and screws, it is loose, but won't separate. I figured that it would not be good to paint it with the bare wires showing showing through the shell, probably would reduce conduction ability if those wires got some paint on them wouldn't it? Do I need a gear puller to get it separated? any help is great, thanks.
I searched and searched here and google and didnt find any info on current toyota alternator disassembly either...just old timer street rods which didn't help any.
