Just wondering if it safe to remove the metal shield thats attached to bottom of the bulb? im trying to get more light output and I feel that its getting blocked by the little piece of metal.

I'm not sure which one you're talking about, but chances are it's acting as either a conductor or a reflector already, since all of the light output is at the filament and not at the base.

If you remove the metal shield it will ruin your light output. I will also scatter the light all over the place besides the road.
