What mods except for the supercharger would help in the car's pick up\ overall acceleration.

I have the K&N drop in, i took out the resonator but this isnt a big diffrence, what would help out?

y-pipe. And thats really the only minor mod that will provide a decent benefit. Save for big things or a different project car, the solara is tough when it comes to modding and getting real results.

????

The bast bang for the buck is headers. I know they are a little pricey, but that is the best mod (short of a supercharger) you can do.
I also recommend Jims fuel modification.

Three things that make an engine go.
1. Fuel - Jims fuel mod
2. Air - Intake and exhaust (headers and supercharger)
3. Spark - The Solara already has a descent electrical system. You may opt for new plugs and wires, but it wouldn't be a horsepower gain.

headers are the best bang for the buck...?

with our cars...hardly....especially considering the price of the jpp headers, which on an NA car would net you about 10whp, and with an s/c 20whp....hardly worth it unless you have deeeeep pockets.

add a bit to the cost of the headers and you can pick yourself up a used s/c if you're lucky.

headers

It blows that we can't get a set of $500 headers. :(

CP-e intake is good for 15 at the wheel, isn't it?

Ok, so what other mod can I get more horsepower for less money? (he said he didn't want a supercharger)

The best mod would be buying a new car and modding it.

headers normally yes, but the jpps are just so expensive, you could probably go custom for the same cost. A custom y-pipe is cheap and provides some benefit because its a real bottleneck on the 1mz. Cpe-intake is by far the best bang for the buck, I've had one and know it works well in terms of a minor mod.

The problem with headers like others have said is you can pick up a used S/C for the same cost. Headers once you supercharge would be the next best bang for your buck.

I've modded the solara in many ways so far and you really need to empty your wallet for some real power, its worth it if you love modding but it sure is pricey.

for easy power without spending money, there is really only one way: N2O

then it's for individuals to judge if that's the "cheap" way of gaining power or not

I'm in the same boat, being in Canada, it's a lot harder to get a hold of after market products locally, I know that the net is probably my best bet but I prefer dealing with shops. Right now I have an Injen SRI, and suspension mods so what's next? Can anyone recommend an exhaust system, i know Greddy has one for the 2000 v6's but it looked a little too big for my taste, since i'm not going for "loud". Well any insight on attainable mods without doing the headers or SC will help. Who do i speak to with regards to the CAI extension? is it available in Canadian shops yet?
