Intake filter Question.

Hey does anyone know If the Injen Filter that came with the SRI kit is a dry filter or wet? Because Ive always used the K&N spray on it but didnt come to mind if it was meant to be dry or wet type

I believe its wet. Just make sure you use the K&N cleaner on it and let it dry thoroughly before spraying more oil on it or it will choke!

^ what he said. You can also use the TRD filter cleaner that's available at any Toyota dealership.

(I ran my '86 big gixer with straight velocity stacks after the second rebuild.... sucking all God's creation.... butterflies, bugs, dust, SAND, into the engine.... IT HONKED SOMETHING FIERCE.... a few more HP, but I'll tell ya, when I had to rebuild the entire motor again 3-4k miles later.....)

I'd keep SOME kind of filter on it......

I know a guy who put a nylon stocking over his CAI that stuck out of the nose of his Eclipse. He also hated that car.

He also had his air intake on his 300ZX Twin Turbo pointed AT THE GROUND, sticking out of the nose. No wonder it hydrolocked.

Can my filter be cleaned or does it need replacement?
All Injen Air Filters can be cleaned using cotton gauze air filter cleaners and oil that can be purchased from most major auto part stores.
We suggest cleaning the filter every 30,000 miles or when it becomes visibly black in color. We recommend examining the filter every 9,000 miles.

For filter replacement, please view the application guide for the filter that you need for your application and you can order from www.injenonline.com or any of our authorized Injen product dealers.

Don't forget guys, rinse the water through it from INSIDE-OUT.... (you don't want to PUSH the debris INTO the cotton element...)

Then MAKE SURE IT IS THOROUGHLY AIR DRY!!!! (Don't recommend blown air or HEAT induced rapid drying.... take yer time...)

When you apply the new oil, just run a small bead along each "RIB-RIDGE" and then let it set and soak in for awhile.... it will "WICK" down into the valleys. Once it has evenly "WICKED", go back and apply small amounts at a time to those areas that are still "WHITE" or otherwise "FAINT" with oil...

TRUST ME, I've been doing these types of filters for many many years.... OVER oiling will not help, rather LOAD UP your engine, and cause the filter to perform poorly, or at least, less efficiently. Good preparation and patience will be rewarded with INCREDIBLE filter life, and the engineered performance they are capable of.

Ive been cleaning filters for years so Im not too much of an issue to that... I just want to know if the Injen is a dry or wet filter so that I will know if I need to oil it or not.

On the site its all wet as Im seeing. But Mine is blue? Not red like the listed on the site,
