I still didnt get a definitive answer.

How do you take the entire center console assembly ( all the way from the console part itself to the plastic over the shiftgate ) out. I been able to take out the plasic over the shiftgate to expose the bare shiftgate and shifter, but i cant figure out how to take out my center console completely.
Also
I know manual temp solaras have bulbs in there that you can change but for Automatic climate control solaras ( SLEs ) can we change the nasty green color of that screen and those buttons?

I hope someone can answer these questions.

For the center console (with the clock and stuff), pull out the ashtray and start pulling the inside of where the ashtray was. Everything should pop out with relative ease.

Everything else, though, I don't know.

actually i was talkin bout the center console as in the armrest =P but i figured it out

inside armrest comparment under carpet theres 2 bolts, take them out
pry up plastic around shiftgate itll pop up
unscrew 2 phillips head screws connecting console to shiftgate
lift out

heh that was easy
