the wheels i really like right now are only sold in chrome. is it possible to get them painted silver, and reliably so it wont chip? how much could i expect to pay?

You can... Not cheap. 75 bucks a rim in my area. They oven coat it. I dont know what they really call it but thats what they do. Paint then oven it.

^^ True - unless they're 1-piece and you want to keep a chrome lip. ;)

If you're painting the whole wheel, then powdercoat is the way to go.

Otherwise, you're gonna have to have them professionally masked, etched, sealed, painted, clearcoated and let cure for a few days before mounting them.

This is the process I"ve seen them do on OverHaulin' several times.

If you have 2-3 piece wheels, then you can get the individual parts powdercoated - but then you're looking at over $500/rim anyway so money isn't an issue at that point! ;)
