S-AFC vs. Slit Second

S-AFC vs. Slit Second

The APEXi S-AFC has been around and talked about on this an other forums. I haven't seen a lot about the Split Second Fuel/Timing Calibrator. Does anyone here have any experience or knowledge about both of these that can compare or make a recommendation?

I've just put the S/C on my '99 Solara SLE along with the TRD exhaust and the RMM Intake kit. Next on the list is the JP Performance headers and Y-Pipe. I'm still struggling over whether or not to do the 2.8" pulley. After all these mods, I'm sure I'll need one of these controllers/calibrators/computers whatever you call it.

Anybody's educated opinion on this would be greatly appreciated. I know the APEXi S-AFC is significantly less expensive and the Split Second is easily reconfigurable with a laptop computer. That's about the extent of my knowledge... Thanks -Joe

Your best bet would be to talk to EricSol, he has personally used both the S-afc and the Split second unit. Currently he is around 273FWHP and using split second because it gives him a lot more control over his car

wouldnt a supercharger, exhaust, headers, and y-pipe be to much stress on an auto tranny without any mods to the tranny?

Any performance upgrade will put more stress on the auto tranny. Especially if you have prolonged boost in first or go beyond the 4psi pulley.
