possible to drive with rear deck out?

possible to drive with rear deck out?

i was thinking of installing new 6x9s myself and leaving the backseats and all the paneling out so i could save money on my coilover install (i heard i can save around 1.5hrs of labor, true?) so my question is will the car be driveable with all that junk out, or is it not safe. based on the instructions i read, it seems like the struts and everything would be exposed, which im thinking is not a good idea.

maybe i can do the opposite and just have the shop install my rear speakers for me when they do my suspension install...

you'll be fine, as long as your not tearing apart metal.

I have my rear seats out now, nice weight reduction :)

No, it's a supporting rear deck, the rear clip will completely fall apart if you take it out :o

And taking out the paneling should take under an hour if you're trying not to break all the clips. I've had to take my stuff apart so much, I could take apart and reassemble everything in under 30 minutes

I'm joking, leave it all apart. The only thing you'll suffer while driving without all that junk in the back is increased road noise.

I was going to do the same thing actually but said F it and I mounted my rears from the bottom. It'll save me time if I have to service them later on. You won't have any problems like everyone else said.

I did the same thing and drove around for about a week waiting for my 6x9's to be delivered. It was quite noisy, but thats about it.

I honestly regret even bothering with the expense and hassles of replacing the rear deck speakers. The stock JBL's are just fine for that location. I dont need them to hit hard because I have a sub and they are there only for fill as I have my fader biased forward to create a more realistic soundstage. I can think of a bunch of cool things I could have done if I saved the money I spent on expensive 6x9 speakers.
