Fckn crap.

Well, I think after I got the CAI, that's when I started getting lean. Before then, i think the stock air intake, with K&N filter, didn't allow me to take in enough air to run too lean even with 6lbs of S/C boost.

After the intake is when it happened. But, i drove for a good while before it blew. Because it was the last performance mod i added, i deduced it was the problem.

So, i got my engine fixed and just finished the break in period. Now i will get the URD A/F calibrator installed so i don't have that problem again. So, for you, I would recommend getting a piggy back fuel system and getting the lean tuned out immediately.

even if im running 4psi boost?

and did u have Jim's Fuel mod installed?

don't know about the situation if you run 4lbs. I haven't run 4lbs since the day I got the supercharger, and then only had that boost level for a month or so. I guess it wouldn't be as much danger to you than if you ran 4lbs. In fact, I think some people said that at 4lbs it runs rich in some places.

I did have Jim's fuel mod. However, I didn't have the URD fuel pump. So, now that I think about it, that could have been a part of the problem too.

All I know is that it is not a good feeling dropping $5K to fix a blown engine. I could have done a few other things with that cash. So, I'm being cautious with my recommendation to you. If I had to do it over again, I would have just got the pieces together then put it all on at once. But, I was impatient and excited about every new product that was available for the Solara, so I piecemealed my upgrades and got burned.

Good grief, I sound like some guy going through his 4th divorce giving advice to a young newly wed. Well in that case, good luck and make her [Solara] happy.
