question about tires

Postby woa_its_j3ff » Tue May 29, 2007 4:53 pm

so 2KSoulara's 225/45/17s

VS

SpikedMantis's 215/50/17s ...

who's would fill in the wheel well gap better?
I know if the wheel well gap gets filled more, the width of my tires will decrease but that isn't what I care about much right now.

I'm guessing SpikedMantis's would fill in the wheel well gap better, correct?

I run a 215/50/17 and they are perfect with my tein setup. Basically no noticeable gap. If you get kumos dont get ecsta 711s cause those tires suck, tires are the most important part of your cars performance because they make your suspension mods shine as well as grip when you need to put power to the ground, buy a good tire. I recommend BF Goodrich as the best bang for your buck.

I've run both, so yes, the 215/50/17 will fill that gap better. Here's a pic of when I ran 225/45/17 vs. 215/50/17 (sorry for the crap angles, but that's all I got right now):

Fact

Postby JMSinMaryland » Tue May 29, 2007 5:31 pm

A 215/50 17 is the perfect size for 1997-2001 Camry with the V6 engine. Unless you're running a 7.5-8" wheel a 225 is going to bulge. I think the 215/50 17 offers the best compromise between width, gap and wheel protection. Whenever I replace my 16" wheels and go with a 17" this is the size that I will be running. I personally would recommend the Yokohama AVid V4s in this size. Jon.
