Hyper Ground Wires
so has anyone installed these on your ride?
i'm looking at the websites and it seems that this is a fairly simple mod to install, and relatively cheap for the gains shown.
for those who don't know, hyper ground wires aide the engine by allowing the extra electrical 'noise' to be grounded out, rather than interfering with the cars electrical components. i have read that they can improve the hp/trq by upto ~3-10hp, and ~3-12trq (at the wheel, dyno tested). i have also read that they can cause the car to lose hp/trq, which is more uncommon, but anecdotally reported (at least once).
my more specific questions are this -
if anyone has them, where were they ordered from and how much did they cost?
what were the ground points used when installing?
and has anyone considered rigging a makeshift ground wire setup?
i realize that the brand name hyper ground wires boast 99.99% pure copper, w/ like, three protective sheaths around it....but logic would suggest that any additional ground aides (even w/ some impedence) would benefit the grounding ability moreso than stock.
i'm interested in this concept, since it seems to make sense, both logically and electrically. i'd be more interested in it though, if there is a way to make your own ground wiring kit, which would make similar (albeit probably less impressive) gains to the performance.
let me know what ya'll think. my 'lara is still up on jackstands and i can't help but research and plan ways to make it drive faster and more efficiently.
ANY INPUT would be greatly appreciated, whether it's 'constructive criticism,' or just calling me foolish for considering such a homebrewed halfbaked idea.
thanks,
~kwan
