This question has probably already been asked, but the search engine is still screwed up. So has anyone ever heard replacing a light bulb over the recommended wattage will damage the headlamps housing or harness? Is that true? Can the Solara Head lamp handle a 100w bulb?

why not just get HIDs?
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.

Because my friend had a pair sitting around in his garage, and said he could not use them. I figured I will take them and try them out. I just not certain about the risks that I have been hearing about.

No... I've seen high-wattage halogens being sold that actually needs you to change the headlight wiring, not to mention that unless you do a lot of higher speed driving or live in Alaska, there's a good chance of the headlight housings melting too.
