Just had the Tokico/Eibach combo installed on my 99 yesterday. So far I absolutely love the ride. The only problem is my ABS light is on, and after resetting the ECU, it's still on.....What's wrong with my car?

When I had my car lowered the guy working on it accidently broke one of the electric lines that made my ABS work. They had to get a new part to fix the line. I would take your car back to the place that did the work and make sure that they did not break one of your ABS lines.

I have that problem too. I lowered my car about a year ago. I checked all the lines, and nothing seems to be cut. I know someone else that had this problem, it looks like your going to have to purchase a new ABS sensor. I think they go for 150 bucks, unless you can get one from the junk yard. I've had the ABS light/ no ABS for about a year now. I have no problem with braking.

Lifeguard, do you feel a strong pull on your wallet? If so, that would be the nice wheels, TRD rear sway bar (set to track), possibly Whiteline front sway bar and body kit that are all SCREAMING to jump on that newly lowered ride? It's a very strong pull and hard to fight! Good luck! -JoeB

okay, to clear it up, my ABS does still work, it's just the light that's messed up. Is it worth fixing if I can't get the shop to fix their mistake? Oh, my wallet is being pulled.

By ABS, we are talking Anti-lock Brake System, aren't we? Or are we talking airbags? If it's brakes, I've put them to the test.

This whole thread is about the ABS light being on... so yes we're all talking about the Anti-lock Brake System... i never knew abs could stand for "airbags"?!?

Your ABS might be working but your sensors mite be f-ed up... Im not sure if cleaning would help, but if you cant, get ready to pull out your wallet cuz i highly doubt its just a light problem.

It only makes sense... if you were playing around with the wiring or the light itself, then yeah the light mite be screwed... but since you actually moved/removed the ABS, that triggered it all... so go to the main source

i've never seen a toyota with the ABS light on where the ABS worked. if the light is on, you've got no ABS.
you might have brakes, but not Anti-Lock Brakes.

Took it to the mechanic.....then realized that I was bent over with my pants down. I told him what you guys said, and that something might've been messed up, and sure enough, he comes to the conclusion that my "rear-left ABS spindle sensor" (that's what he told me) was broken, and the wires couldn't be reconnected, but on the plus side, it would only cost about $60 to buy a new one, and he'd fix it. That 'performance' shop is never going to touch my friggin car again.

well in the performance shops defense it happens...they should however foot the bill for it...i got my car lowered at rod millen motorsports in hungtinton beach im sure you've heard of rod millen..and yea they messed it up but they apologized and bought the part and fixed it...any good shop will admit the mistake and fix the problem and take the blame...notice i said good shop...and i agree with davpak..if your abs light is on...most likely your abs is gone.....
