Checklist for purchasing USED RIMS
I live in Columbus, Ohio...and I don't know too much about the roads everywhere else...but they REALLY REALLY SUCK!
I wasn't paying too much attention yesterday and ran into a pot-hole. My second since this past winter. My second impact break since this past winter. I'm kind of pissed off. I mean, I'm driving perfectly well in the middle of the lane...I don't expect for my stinking tires to run into trouble that often. Is that not a reasonable expectation?
One good thing is, I was thinking about getting rims for my car. There is someone selling Enkei 5 Plus 17" with some used tires (60% tread) for about $550. I'm thinking about getting those rims instead of replacing my stock 15" tires for the winter.
Do you guys have suggestions for what I should check before I spend what little money I have? Are there little tricks I should use to make sure the rims are in good shape? Like roll them to make sure they're symmetical or something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
