you need another person to help out. 1 bottle of brake fluid.

to bleed the brakes:

after the car is off the ground, and the wheels are off there should be a nipple looking thing on the brake caliper. (follow the brake line, if you can't see it.)
Here is where your friend comes in handy. have your buddy step on the brake pedal 3-4 times to pump the brake pedal; so pressure can build in the lines.
using a 6 or 8mm (i forgot) wrench, immediately loosen the nipple, wait till the fluid runs strong and immediatley tighten.

you have just bleeded 1 brake caliper.
do onto the rest of them.

Watch the fluid level in the reservoir. Do not let all of the fluid get out (not good for older cars). Keep adding new fluid accordingly. Not that much fluid bleeds out each time it is pumped up, so you should only have to add twice per wheel or so.

... unless you get a "one-man-kit", which is what I did when I installed my calipers in the rear. The kit kost me only $5 at PepBoys and is basically a piece of plastic tubbing with a small valve on one end, so that it does not suck air back in when you release the brake pedal. The rest of the bleeding instructions still apply.

If you work quickly and do not loose much fluid, one bottle will be enough. I'd get two just to be safe though. Plus, replacing the brake fluid once in a while is a good idea anyway, so bleed more of the old fluid out if you have enough new fluid - just make sure the reservoir remains full and no air enters form there...

Get one of these.
Extremely simple to use and very effective. It's by far the most borrowed tool in my collection. I've used on everything from the Solara to the Porsche 911 and even a 66 mustang. Works great on them all (with the right adapters).
