Strut Rattle Spring compressor info needed

Strut Rattle Spring compressor info needed

Postby ZXLNT » Fri Nov 14, 2003 4:12 pm

Ok my rattling front struts are really starting to annoy me now. I have a friends who's brother is a Toyota mechanic. He said he is willing and able to replace the strut mounts or whatever that was that is a common problem in the Solaras (the proper word escapes me at the moment). Anyway only thing he needs is a spring compressor for the struts. He has access at work but can't really use work tools for a job on his own.. What exactly is needed? Could it be rented? Made? Or what????

Thanks

Tony..

If your front struts are rattling, try just tightening the three strut studs, and the center nut (the big one in the middle) My parent's avalon had the a simlar prob, and I just torqued everything down and it was all good after that.

Thats not it. Its the upper strut mount or bushing or whatever that wears out on the Solaras. Allready had Toyota dealer look at it...
