Injen intake and trd exhaust, good power increases or not?

Am thinking about buying a injen intake and trd exhaust, i have a 99 solara v6 5 speed, will these two items give me some good horsepower? How much might i expect to gain? Also would it be worth my time and money to have a shop fabricate some kind of downpipe or something for my intake so that its not breathiing in the hot engine air? How much might that cost? Would anybody here know of a shop in the bay area that can do that? Thanks guys!

The TRD exhaust is just a muffler; at least I am pretty sure it is. Go with a full cat-back( e.g. Apexi, Greddy, JIC, XERD, JP etc.) Just my .02, but I don't think just swapping a muffler is worth it when you can get a Cat-Back for like $150 more.
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

Get a muffler and get all the pipes re-done form the cat back. It's cheaper. That's what I'm doing. The muffler is on it's way right now.

1 Magnaflow SS 14829 Muffler $88 shipped! ( I know this guy online who sells flowmasters and magnaflows real cheap)

2.5" piping from the cat back (including all materials and labor) $165 + 8.75% NYS tax

Total: $267.44

I mostly took this option becasue I just wanted to be different. So many people have the Greddy, Apexi or TRD systems. Unfortunatly, you can't really do this yourself. I like to do the work my self to save $$$ but also because I like the feeling when I do it up nice, but I don't have any welding skills.

What these guys are saying is correct. The short answer to your question is that neither the Injen intake nor the TRD exhaust will give you much of a hp increase. If you like sound, though, they will make your car significantly louder. A CAI and a catback exhaust system would give you more hp.
