Experience with SSR Competition wheels?

Experience with SSR Competition wheels?

I am thinking about getting SSR Competition wheels for my Solara, 17 x 7.5. The looks are OK, but my main reason is to reduce the unsprung weight of the car. These wheels are very light (under 14 lbs) but are still supposed to be quite strong. I've read about some people bending these rims but it's hard to know if it happens any more than with any other wheel.

Has anyone used these before, or know anyone who has? Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks.

Are they forged? If they are cast, I would doubt their integrity.

I was thinking of getting the Kosei K1 Racing (17x7.5) from Tire Rack. But they only come in Silver, and I want Anthracite.

They are lightweight at 16.0lbs and $179 each. Seems like good deal to me.
