Creaking/Clicking Noise

Creaking/Clicking Noise

Postby indiglosolara » Sun Feb 29, 2004 7:04 pm

Ok, I went and got my my TRD Front strut bar installed last week and i've been driving it with no problems the first 2 days. Then my car sat in my garage for about 3 to 4 days and i decided to take it out this weekend.. I drove it on sat with no problems then today i was pulling into my driveway and now i hear a light creak/clicking noise. It kinda sounds like when your springs are getting compressed or when you are putting too much strain on your suspension.

Has anyone had this problem..??? I mite just put some grease around the bolts and lub my suspension to see if it helps.

Thanks in advance for your reply..

I get exactly what you described. I don't have the strut tower brace. I personally think its the strut mounts, I'm not sure though.
5-speed V6.
TRD Supercharger.
TRD Short Throw Shifter.
Tokico/Eibach combo.

I had it..it means that your sway bar is not on straight...with mine it was the RSB, I took it back to the shop that put it on; they put the car on the rack and straightend it and I have not had any issues since.

I have the same problem, except mine's the front right. I don't have a FSB or anything, and it only seems to happen when it's cold out.

i get that too. and it increasingly gets louder with each bump i take. it happened right after i put my Tein/Tokico's on. i thought it was the strut mounts too. i took apart my whole backseat JUST to get to the strut bolts and tighten them to specs again.

turns out that wasn't the problem. i found out it was my exhaust hangar, which scrapes what i think is my tow hitch in the rear. figured that out when i was washing my exhaust one day....

I dont have a front sway bar.. its the front strut tower bar.. but i put some grease where the bolts are to adjust the bar and it solved hte problem.. I guess it wasn't lubbed correctly...

but i can tell that now my front kinda creaks due to it being stiffer in the front. I know that the front strut bar doesn't do much affect but for looks.. it just seems to be a little stiffer. again its probably just me and not the strut bar.
