Can I get out of this fix-it ticket?

Can I get out of this fix-it ticket?

Well, I've been fearing it ever since I got my windows tinted and it happened today. I got a fix-it ticket for having my driver and passenger side windows tinted. I was parked too...those bastard$ At least he didn't cite me for clear corners and no front license plate and so on so that was a relief. But anyways, on the ticket, the officer misspelled my street name...I know you can get out of tickets with a misspelled name, but can you get out of one with a misspelled address? I know it's a long shot since I can't exactly get rid of the evidence, but just thought I might ask. Also, what happens if I re-tint my windows and get another ticket? Thanks for the input!

as long as the license plate, name and majority of the HP is correct, you will most likely not be able to get out of the infraction. however there is the route if you pay for the infractions, you can choose to keep the front tint on.

Yeah, I was parked at a lightrail station. This isn't the first ticket I've gotten at that parking lot. I got one once for having a CLEAR license plate cover on...unbelievable! But I ride the lightrail to school to avoid the parking problems near campus so I kinda have to park there.

Miltdoggie--damn that sucks...just curious, but how badly did the guy botch your name?

I didn't know you could pay an infraction fine and keep the tint...does that mean they just disregard the citation but I'm still vulnerable for future tickets? Thanks!

yeah good question - i just got the same ticket in ny - however if you pull the tint here in 24 hrs there's no fine - but can you basically pay to keep them and prevent future tickets or are they gonna just pull you over once you pull out of the parking lot again?

Ive had to this about three times, but usually I would just take the tint off from the front pay the $10 fix-it ticket, and then get new tint back on the front, yeah this gets expensive, but what can you do? If you re-tint and get another fix-it ticket, they wont throw you in jail or impound your car or anything, just another $10. :D

Yea that's what I thought so too, I thought you could not get a ticket for having tinted windows unless you were moving. But yea either way, just pay the $10 and put the tint back on if you want. But cops in the Bay Area in general are strict on that, I have had countless friends get fix it tickets for tinted windows.

hmm I wonder if you can take a pic of someone else's car with no front tint and take it in. I have been thinking about tinting my driver and pasanger side but i dont want to give cops a reason to pull me over.
