Postby that1mexguy » Mon Jun 14, 2004 1:21 pm

Does anyone here have a custom steering wheel? I'm looking into changing mine cuz it looks so plain/ugly. If so, do u have any pics? I'm looking for ideas/suggestions? thanks

PS. Not sure if this is the right forum, but i'm sure the moderator will hook it up

Im lookin for one too. I got the wood trim, tan interior, so even something with a little wood would be cool. I just want it to be a little thicker maybe, but I dont want some cheezy looking piece of plastic overlay, or a walmart elastic wheel wrap.

use the corollas or matrix's steering wheel, or just buy a sparco or momo etc.

I've been wanting to also, but how do you feel about losing your airbag?

hey guys

go to wheelskins.com, or just go on ebay and look for their product.

what it is is a genuine leather steering wheel wrap. it's not some cheap "fit-on", you actually hand-stitch it on, so it looks VERY nice...

they have 3 models. one is the plain leather, other kind is a combination of perforated leather and regular, and the top kind (around 30 bucks, which I have) has a 2 tone kinda thing.

try to put up some pics some time...but it really is a good way to increase the grip and to decorate your car. they have many colors to choose from. Definitely quality products.

God bless

Glow Wheel

Postby red2002solara » Tue Jun 15, 2004 12:03 pm

I saw steering wheels where the wheel itself illuminates color. Has anyone ever seen these before, and how hard would it be to install?

Its almost perfect. Id prefer some wood, but I think thats a big step up from the plastic walmart peice.

How do u get it for 30 bucks? Ebay?

Glad you guys like it!

well...I got it from ebay, and it was actually 40...sorry, 30 is for the basic one color kind.

just type in wheelskins on ebay

make sure to read the instructions, to specify the size, and choose where to perforate, and what color goes of the left/right, and what color goes on the top/bottom..

have fun guys! it's an awesome mod! It makes it feel so much better
and looks awesome

God bless

What color did you get? and where did you choose to get the preforations? (and what color was your standard interior?)

I think "sand" is the best match for tan interior. and I think I want preforated sides and normal top (all sand).

Just putting some thoughts together right now, trying to picture how it would look.
