Postby cruze105 » Wed Jun 16, 2004 8:43 am

I am not sure what you call it, but i need to trailer hook up to put on my solara so i can bring my jetski to the lake.
anyone know any thing that can be screwed on right underneath the rear bumper?
I also have the trd kit im not sure if that will make a difference.

if wont fit unless you modify it which i would not recommend. I've seen a tow hitch on a solara and its right next to the bumper.. since you have the kit you would have to take off the rear valance for it to fit correctly.

But why would you want to do that to your solara.. you should get another car to tow it..

Find someone who owns an SUV or Jeep that'll you can go jetsking with.

Offer to put on the hitch for free if hell haul out ur jetski whenever u need it done.

I had a friend whos old porsche died up in boston. Put on a hitch for free on my friends jeep if she'd go there and haul down the porsche.

I really dont recommend putting a hitch on the Solara.

the only thing is that once its put on its hard to take off.. its not something that you can just plug and play at need. to install it it has to be bolted to the under frame and would require more work then just bolts screwed in and unbolt..

I wouldn't do it..

most hitches are a simple bolt on. but they are heavy. u-haul makes a class II hitch that is round and curvy. it is more expensive. i think it looks nice on the camry, but maybe it won't look nice with your trd kit.

Nobody gets trailer hitches because they think it looks good. They actually serve a purpose too. I'm in support of this idea. I think a Solara with a jetski behind it would look tight cruisin. If it's possible to securely put a hitch on, I say DO IT! And snap some pics with it towing a jetski. Be sure to know that the towing max for the V6 is 2000 lbs which a jetski is nowhere near of course.
