Reducing Exhaust Noise Help

Postby 808Camry » Mon Aug 16, 2004 11:48 am

Hey guys,

I just redid my stock piping from the exhaust back to the cat to 2.5 inches and replaced the JPP carsound cat with a Dynatech PowerCat. Well before all this the exhaust was loud and deep. Now the exhaust is louder and farty like an Apex-i N1 on a civic w/3 inch piping. My question is what can I do to get the noise down and the sound deep and not farty again? I was thinking of adding an aftermarket resonator that won't restrict exhaust flow too much. Any ideas?

a regular tube resonator should do it, idont know how much it is for a good glasspack tho.. but those make exhaust sounds have much more bass

Sorry correction, the exhaust sounds fine, but when I reduce the noise by putting in my silencers its farty. I get a slight vibration/fartyness real faint when I punch it with the silencers out but with the silencers in its extremely farty. The silencers never used to do this.

JPP Headers & Y-pipe, with Dynatech PowerCat, 2.5" custom piping all the way to a 2.5" splitter into two 2" pipes to each Tsudo Predator muffler.
