the solare has a tranny cooler that is inside the radiator... does it disapate heat inside of the radiator as well as outside of it? I dunno... im assuming the external one is better... Ive got one at my house laying around... I know that B&M makes 2 types. one w\ a fan and one that is air cooled... personally the fan is pointless since you drive the wind cools it faster than a fan ever would.. u want my tranny cooler send me a PM.. i can get pics 2

i think the cooler with a fan helps in high heat places, ie vegas or Az when you're just stopped in traffic or at a stop light there's no circulation until you get moving.

but if you're in places that has fairly cool weather all year long, the one w/o the fan would be all you need.

8)Have you ever touched your tranny return line after a good long drive? If you do you will agree the car does not have a cooler. Also after installing mine I got a noticable improvement in the way my car shifts. That's before I blew the motor.

I have the B&M cooler sitting in my house still the box.

This is the one i purchased
http://www.lmperformance.com/2007/1.html

What is the chance that the cooler be pluged and not allowing fuild thru??
i'm going to try to get his thing installed pretty soon and i wasn't sure if i should since i dont have really any high performance parts such as SC. all i have is the injen intake thats sitting at my house and greddy evo installed. i do occasionally push the car pretty hard. but do i even need it?? or should i even get this installed?? I know that it improves the tranny's life which is what i want.. but what are/if any the draw backs of having it??

your feedback is apreciated....

yeah not nearly as efficient... it probably lets a little off, but absorbs lots from the radiator itself... not the greatest design, but I Guess it gets the job done..

Id just go w\ the external one people

See i know our cars have one but, i would think an aftermarket would be better.
Wouldn't a Tundra tranny cooler work too??
Cause my uncle has a tundra and it has an tranny cooler in front of the radiator.

^^Depends on the size of the lines on the Tundra tranny...more than likely they are bigger for the extra amount of fluid, but it might be worth a check if you're wanting to stay OEM...but where would you find one besides a dealer?

even if the tranny cooler can handle a bigger hose, the tranny can only handle a specific size... the hose isn't that big that runs from the tranny to the cooler and back... check and see how big it is...

even if you got the bigger tranny cooler you would have to taper down to the right size so it would fit on the tranny

Yeah i could find one at a junkyard hopefully.
Wouldn't i tap into the 2 hoses from the tranny to the OEM cooler??
I think you would use a "T" PVC pipe thingy.
How much fluid to add if i got an aftermarket or Tundra tranny cooler??
Factory mauals [Haynes repair] says tranny can hold up to 5 quarts.
I'm thinkin' about ot change the tranny fluid soon; should i change the diff fluid too??
My pops says just check the diff fluid.
I would like to change the tranny and diif fluid so that i know that both have new fluid.
I don't want one of the two failin' on me.
Also i don't like the idea of 1 wit new fluid and the other wit crappy fluid.
