You mean just below or just above the old tape line?

so the 5lbs tape works good? Do i need industrial strength for stronger hold? I dont want to have to redo it every year.

I've had my camry kit since 1999, thus far this is what i've done -
1. original molly designs tape in 1999
2. 5lbs tape in 1999 (fronts and rears)
3. 5lbs tape in 2003 (rears only)
4. i need to redo my fronts for sure during xmas or whenever time permits..

All this is depending on how much you drive or how your roads are....you migh have to redo it every 2-3 years. It ain't too shabby of the process. KNOCK ON WOOD, the sides are still on original tape!

For those of you who put your own kits on, did you use 1 piece of double sided tape or 2? The dealer put mine on so I don't know how it was originally. This year, I had some damage repaired and the guy that put the piece back on thought there were 2 pieces there originally. Common sense tells me that you wouldn't normally put tape on tape because it wouldn't stick that well. Looking at it now, it looks like it is separating between the 2 pieces of tape as I would expect. What did you guys do? -JoeB

Joe, the original TRD kits have one strip of tape. At least the 20023 kit I just put on my car did. I agree that tape on tape would be a bad idea.
