Postby RichD978 » Wed Mar 09, 2005 12:05 pm

i live in new england and its been snowing like crazy. i want rims but are afraid of lossing traction with big wheels in the winter time... how big should i go and still have good traction for the snow? I was thinking 17s, any suggestions?

perfect solution for new england

use your factory for the winter, get yourself a nice set of Blizzaks

Use your aftermarket rims for the spring/summer. Get a nice set of summer performance tires.

i have 18's

I know what you mean, but why don't you just leave the existing winter tires on right now, since winter almost over anyway, buy some rims in the spring and save your money over the summer and pick up some cheap winter tires for your stock rims??

Try Spa Racing in malden 781-324-3530. Talk to justin and he could set you up. All depends on what you are looking for ect. Tell em Rob told yah to drop by off solaraguy. Just got my goodyear triple treads from him, best winter/allseason tire imho. My next step will be the summer rims and tires, maybe the p nero's *shrug*

You know SPA racing is like 5 min from my house lol. Ive never been there they have a pretty tiny shop, so i didnt think they had much inventory. I should make a stop by there then.

Ya 17s should be alright, It's not like our roads are that bad. Get some thicker tires if anything and i think you will be alright.

Holy crap I didnt even know they had room for a dyno. I dont even think those two garages they have next to them are theirs. I think i went to check them to see if they did lowering and they quoted me like 250$ :o, but havent gone back since.
