MAF sensor

Just thinking out loudly here:
I scanned through a couple mustang magazines and see that high flo maf sensors are available left and right. (made specifically for mustangs). Looking down that sad wrinkly tube i can see that ours takes up WAY to much space. ya, props on making it pointed and aerodynamic, but i see a 10+ hp air block right there.
I dont think ive ever heard of such a thing before, but is it possible to go custom? It sounds like a potential heart-ache at first that could very well increase performance.
