im toast... or ... the tires are

i got a f***in nail in my left rear
it has been there for a week, but i thought i had just flat spotted the tire from a fun little e-brake adventure a couple buddies and i had... pumpin gas, saw the nail, almost hurled. ... why? :-?

bc the tires were put on the car brand new before we bought it from the dealership under their certified program. normally everything would be fine, get the tire fixed, back on the road. but...

these tires are done, they have about 7k miles on them. they told us the tires had one of the highest treadwear ratings so that the free tires for life would more easily secure the dealership of their obligations. warrantied for 100k miles i think.

i also figured out that free tires for life is close to worthless anyways. 8 years later, i think the last place you will find me is up at the toyota place begging for free tires. i dont mind shelling that money every 8 years, its a little different compared to shellin out that money every 8 months though.

bottom line. i am going to talk to my father (o0o0oh hes gonna be mad) and see if i can go ahead and get a nice wheel and tire package. i will probably have to wash and wax the boat or something and then wipe out the bank.

he almost has no choice. i cant be ridin around on ' racing ' slicks. and those tires are like $800-$900 for all 4 corners, when i can get a whole package with the same money. free shipping on wheelmax.com and bestwheel.com . wheels arent so bad.

so i might be rollin on some 18's guys. if you know of some sick rims&tires for under $1500 go ahead and let me know. im loving the gloss black with polished lip look.

sidenote: i found my stepdad in the garage trying to pry the nail out with a screw driver... with full air pressure. standing directly over it. does he have a death wish? :drinking:

to those that think im proud of this... im not

IMO: let your parents spoil you with a nice car. Let your hard working sweat spoil your car with mod's. There is somethign else to having to sweat for your own mods. I really have no gripe about parents giving the children reliable means of transportation (my folks did), its just that modding is a hobby not a necessacity...leave that to youself..not your folks! But to each his own....

I second that - i have no clue what he is talking about.

Are you mad because you have a nail or because you have to buy new tires?

What kinda tires do you have?

Also tirewear depends a lot on your driving

next time cut the fuuckin story shorter or ask your question directly. if you drive like nutts with the 3300 lb cars, the tire will wear out really fast.
