i recently installed some hids and now find it impossible to switch them off while driving during the day despite having the drl connector unplugged...

i searched for the subject and found a thread that said to be sure the ballasts aren't touching any metal...

i checked my ballasts and they are not touching any metal so that solution is out...

i don't want to waste my hids by having them on during the day so anyone got any ideas on how to fix this???

Me too and I tried disconnecting the sensor for the night time and it still turns on

I know that you can disconnect the E-brake sensor... cause once there is a connection w\ teh e-brake it makes the lights turn on.. I just disconnected that...

You can check the relay, in front of the battery.
Take out the DRL relay in the black box it will be red relay cover.
2000 Solara SE auto V6. Diamond White Pearl.
Top Speed Run finished at 130 mph. :o
Too many modifcations for the signature.

just re-taped the back of the ballasts to be sure metal wasn't touching metal and now the hids are turning on when the night sensor triggers it, so no more problems...

Wheres the best place to mount the ballast? I fried one because it got wet. I did a search and I didn't come up with anything.

I mounted one under the passenger side headlight. I used cable ties to secure it through a few holes in the frame.
