Hey all,

Im in the process of buying tires for Gen 2 stockers. My question is, what do you recommend for tire size to get. Im thinking about 215/40(or 45)/17. I live in New England and i dont plan to swap them out for winter. I was just goin to get all season tires. Any suggestions on what tires to get also?

Also just to make sure I searched and found i needed 5mm spaces for the rear? Is that the correct spacer to get?

Thanks a lot you ppls

I am lowered with Gen 2 stock rims and I use 215/50/17 tires. I have Toyo Proxes TPT and they have been great in dry weather, wet weather, and even snow. Your 5mm spacers will be fine for the rear. Hope this helps you out.

I have the Tein/Tokico combo. I was thinking of either gettin the Yokohama ES100 or the Kumho Ecsta ASX anyone have experience with those? The all seasons are already eating my wallet up and the Toyo's seem even more expensive

I also have a lowered Gen2 and live in the Detroit area.

I went with a wider tire but kept the same circumference. OE = 215/55/R17 --> New Tire = 235/50R17.

The fit is good on the OE wheels and the tread width is about 1" wider on Firestone Firehawk LH's. I chose this tire for the tread pattern to help with winter performance and wet traction. Had I selected a summer tire, the traction would be similar to a mad tabby cat on a shag carpet.

I did not need any spacers. However, there's still room between the tire and fender if you need / want to use them.

^^^^ ahha..........thats funny

I'd go with the Kumho's, but I'd be careful with them in the winter, my boy got a set he he slides through each line on the road before coming to a complete stop.

......on a side note, imma be round the way August 20th or so, should roll by and chill.

My Kumho 716 HP4 GTAS (Grand Touring All Seasons) are awesome in the winter, except when theres over about 3 inches of snow. Its still way better than stock, but maybe everything is - Ive never owned any other AS tires other than these and stock.

And I dont know....15mm spacer sounds like alot...thats a pretty thick spacer. How many turns to tighten on the lugs with that much spaced out?

i 3rd that since im chinese :-? jp rich u donkey

I just bought the wheels off a ex-SG guy and he told me to get these hub-centric wheel spacers because over the long run it would put a lot of strain on the lugs. He mentioned that H&R makes them? anyone have any more info on this?

Gen 2 Rims

Postby SLOW-ARA » Wed Aug 03, 2005 8:44 am

I was wondering if you are putting these gen 2 rims on a gen 1.... I was thinking about doing this since it is an inexpensive wheel upgrade.
