Postby RichD978 » Thu Nov 10, 2005 5:53 am

I got a greddy evo 2 exhaust. Everytime i run over a puddle i get this weird noise coming from under the center console when i accelerate... Its like the tone of it changes, also i get this rattling noise from the same area right after i run over a puddle... has anyone else experiece this or know anything about it? THanks

maybe those puddles are form by pot holes and those noises are from the exhaust moving around. . . The GReddy does move around a lot. . . I learn to ignore it

I haven't had a problem with mine besides a few check engine lights. Check the bolts holding the exhaust on along with the hangers and make sure there bolted up correctly. If your driving in rain, the Greddy will sound different if water gets trapped on the bends of the pipes where you hear a gargling sound.

I get the same problem on mine, mostly in the rain. It sounds like the tone gets muffled. I think it is normal.

It is normal for the greddy exhaust. There were a few threads about it a real long time ago.

my custom catback makes a clicking sound somewhere in the piping while it idles, I've learned to live with it because i assume it has just somethign to do with the movement of the system.

Yeah seriously, it sounds like the car is missing a couple cylinders...but its 'normal' for the Greddy.

Is this noise typical for all catbacks or just greddy?

I was having some crazy noises from my greddy evo as well, I took it to RPM muffler by my house and they put it up on the lift started the car and nothing???? So I started moving my exhaust around trying to get it to make the noise, I realized that it was not moving up and down, nice and sturdy....but it was moving side to side horribly, so They attached another hanger in a spot that kept it from moving side to side, and WaLa! Now it is quiet and smooth.....Until I down shift and hammer the throttle, SC kicks in the boost and WOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO.

Get it up on a lift and check it out.

I had the same problem with my greddy, It was making some rattling/scraping noise when i first got it. But i went to a muffler shop and had them modify the piping a little so that it sits higher and also doesn't move as much.

its a simple $40 job any muffler shop can do..
Hope it helps.

Im taking my greddy off this weekend and changing to the Apexi WS. I want my car to be a little less agressive when i hit the throttle. I kinda like the nice quiet sound like the 350z and g35s.
