Going T76 turbo on the Red Knight

Going T76 turbo on the Red Knight

Postby trd4life » Sat Feb 18, 2006 6:45 pm

Just started ordering parts for my turbo kit for the Red Knight., T76 turbo, huge front mount, Tial wastegate and blow off, prefec-b, jp shorty headers and custom up-pipe. I am leaving the trd s/c on the car. Running emanage ultimate with 650 injectors and 2 walbro 255 pumps.

Rizal i am following in your footsteps thanks for the inspiration. :D

Oh yeah i almost forgot, I am finishing up my 3.3 3MZ block with Eagle rods and JE pistons, i am going to throw that block in the car as well.

tri power

Postby trd4life » Sat Feb 18, 2006 7:46 pm

i am keeping the nitrous setup as well. Probably a 75 shot or so. I have the fuel system and the engine managment all set to go. I am going to keep the 13psi S/C setup and run 20lbs or so on the turbo.

I sent out my 5 speed transmission to have the gears cryo treated and have the LSD installed. Also have a beefy set of axles ready for it.

There are a rare few kits that actually have an SC/Turbo setup. I believe there was one on a Toyota Corolla 1986 models. In Japan, the Levin 86(no retract headlights) Trueno 86 had the retractable headlights. But anyways such a setup exist that I know of but only for that type of car lol. First time to hear N02 though. Hope u can get the timing management properly setup to handle the boost on both the SC and turbo.

Just an out of the blue thing though, have an on/off switch for the SC and Turbo. If you're gonna tackle an Auto X even though I know the Red Knight is mostly a Dragster, it could be possible to use it for such a course where the SC would be good for Corner Entrance and Turbo for Corner Exiting weeeee!!!!! lol :evilbat: wicked though..

Gawd.. Paly n Trd4 are sure going over the borderline. but i think Trd4 setup is going beyond Paly's setup :o

take videos of everything... those would be neat to see.. so how is the boost setup going to work? the sc is roots, so did you have a custom intake manifold? or are you boosting on into the other? a bit confused...

twin charge

Postby trd4life » Sun Feb 19, 2006 11:03 am

I'll get the instant roots boost with a huge turbo to help me up top. The turbo will feed into the charger.
