I think red will look very nice on DWP, have you thought about yellow? just my two cents. :)

I also try to keep a low profile at work, in fact I hope no one is behind me as i'm typing right now....

Red for Rice

Postby JMSinMaryland » Thu May 04, 2006 12:51 pm

I would say either white or black. Keep a color theme. Jon.

red looked awesome on my dwp, but you need to upkeep the painting process. mind you this pic was taken on a bad day with overcast and when car was dirty! (the paint's on teh calipers is like 5 years old now too).

My Opinion

Postby JMSinMaryland » Thu May 04, 2006 1:24 pm

Red should be for drawing attention to your brakes i.e. Brembo, Stoptech, etc. Why call attention to your OEM brakes? I have black myself because it doesn't stand out. If you want to stand out a bit maybe white? Jon.

^^^ I agree wholeheartedly; that's why I did mine black as well.

ummm..well honestly i looked around and the only colors i found in this kit were - Red, Black , Yellow

Yellow- hell no
Black - umm..i'd rather not put in all that work if its not at all noticable.

Red - i think looks good. i would have to do many coats - maybe 6-7 to make it bright and strong.

i wanted something like gunmetal or golden or like..creamish(DWP)!
i really do like Alisha's set up ^^^

so..i see support for red here!

Sap, if you wanted a non-standard color (like your gold or cream), get high temp spray paint. I just bought DupliColor Engine Enamel (high temperatures) and painted my calipers with that. You'd need a separate break cleaner, and high temp clear coat as well. Good thing about that is, you always have it around for touch up when you need it (I DOUBT you'll finish even half a spray can for all four calipers).
