TRD rsb setting help..

TRD rsb setting help..

Postby xavier » Sat May 06, 2006 7:20 am

Ok So I installed my rsb and put the ball joint stud into the outer most hole assuming it was track but I am a little disappointed as it feels the same as stock. Everything else is stock on my susp and I'm not expecting to be able to autox with just a rsb but I was thinking that I may have it on the wrong setting. Help would be great..

Track setting is the inner hole, its the hole closest to the front of the car.

Yeah. Why would you use thread-lock? It'll be a pain to get off if you need to re-lube your bushings.

And why do you guys say its the hole towards the front of the car? Its more of a top/bottom than front/rear. *AND* I have since thrown my instructions away, but I put it in the bottom most hole. I could have sworn the instructions said that was the track setting. Besides, it also had more resistance in the bottm most hole.

Well one of the bolts that hold the TRD RSB to the rod that bolts to the struts, well one bolt came off, and i tightened it as hard as i could.
And it still came off. :o
And i lubed the RSB before i did that.

for the tightest handling setting, you should set it on the hole that is closest to the car's rear axle (or the innermost hole as most say). It is very hard to tell you in words, I hope this helps.

Ok, this morning I adjusted and set the rsb on the top two holes. No Im not going to put loctite on the threads cuz the allen head inset on the threads is what tightens the nut on the threads. As long as its tight, the threads themselves should spin with the nut if it spins (turns). Anyhow, I'll take her for a spin and see if I can tell a difference. BTW, it is more of a top/bottom hole kinda thing. It migt be easier to describe it as the farther hole from or to the end but I think top/bottom would be just as good. Thanks guys

Update** I now know I have the track setting. I was taking an agressive turn and almost turned in too much. There was far less body roll and more "turn-in" kinda. The highway quality was much more firm and felt sturdy. My car is no longer a sail at 80+
