Ground Wire Kit Questions

Ground Wire Kit Questions

Postby SolaraGuy22 » Thu Jul 13, 2006 12:44 pm

I want to add more grounds to my ride but not sure how I should do. I did some searching on the ground kits and hks earth was a popular one. I won't be buying one off eBay. I'll make it if that's the case.

I just wanted to get some opinions. I'm looking for both engine and audio performance.

Thanks,
-Anthony

Okay... Thread retrieval and last time I'm going to bring it up. I FINALLY have everything I need to make my ground wire kit. But what I don't have is where everything goes.

Since I'm now delayed from installing my CPE this weekend I'm still going to do the ground upgrade.

I'm going to do the whole project Saturday and take my time measuring and heat shrinking and all that. Could someone post exactly which point needs to go to the next point? (since I'm such a noob)

I did some searching of course and found this thread but it didn't really help that much http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=18657

Also would it be better to chain them together or run them all to the negative battery post?

Thanks for your help everyone,
-Anthony

Simply replace along the path of the stock ground wires at their respective locations. I chained my homebrew ground kit, cleanest install IMO. From memory...

START
1. Passenger side of intake plenum / ACIS
2. Short length to chassis by passenger strut mount
3. Short length to engine near the radiator cap
4. Longer run under the engine cover down to the transaxle
5. From transaxle to chassis bolt below airbox / battery tray
6. Finally to negative terminal
END
