Gauging Interest: Gen1,1.5 Custom CF Body Kit

We all know how hard it is to find kits for the Gen 1 and 1.5 solara. The TRD Kits are going for near a grand now and all the others out there suck.
This is where I try to represent out community

Some of you may know MotorFX and FiberFX, they specialize in mostly scion and scion CF parts. They make some good quality parts. Im talking to the owner and i asked him if hed be willing to make custom Carbon Fiber lip, side extensions and rear diffusers for gen1 and 1.5 solaras. He said if theres enough interest hed be more than willing.

Ill be the proto for the kit, as my car is basically stock, hell have a fresh car to work on. I think the TRD lip kit would look absolutely sick in CF, and for all u guys out there that dont want dark kits he DOES paint the CF.

If any of you guys have ideas for CF body kit please submit detailed pictures of them He wants to see our ideas.

When we settle on a kit, ill let him know and he can take measurements of my car, then start working out custom CF pieces. After the kit has been set we can organize a group buy. I need 10 ppl + my proto car, 11 cars total. Pricing is vague right now because we dont know what the final kit will be targeted to look like. Expect pricing to be between a grand and a grand and a half, which is a lil more expensive than a new TRD lip kit, but it IS 100% Carbon Fiber.

Anyone interested?

not gonna work bro been there done that lol

and I was proto for them before lol thats my CF trunk guy

also thats too much for a CF TRD Kit I got quoted alot less from them lol

Yeah well I havent worked out details yet
So if u had a CF TRD Kit in the works why didnt you tell us to arrange a group buy for it?

Anyway im just getting some opinions im not organizing this group buy yet so dont shoot my idea just yet

im down for a CF lip kit
but not necessarily one that looks like the TRD
and i just figured with TRD kits going for a G it might be worthwhile to try to get a quality kit other than the TRD and in CF.

The problem with CF is it CRACKs easy the TRD kit is urethane and doesnt crack that easy

and agian some cheap people here

though u may not agree mark that was over 2 years ago.. there may be more hardcore guys here now willing to lay down the cash...

run another interest check and make sure it requires deposits...

yeah seeing as most ppl on here daily their cars a CF kit could be risky
im still willing to scan interest on here.
as TRDKAMURI mentioned there may be ppl willing to lay down the cash now. Plus im not saying we should be limited to just TRD look kits. I wanna see what ppl come up with.
I, for one, want just a straight lip on front bumper ( not 2 corner extension like trd lip ), simple side extension and a small diffuser on back with enough clearence for HKS carbonTI muffler.

Speaking of which
what ever happened to the CF trunk then. Fiberfx decided not to mass produce?

no I would own the mold and they would only make what I wanted I dont want a bunch of CF trunks floating around It was supposed to be first run of 10
only got 5 total people for it

no one else

I knew the other partners that used to be there. but yea I didnt want to make anything if I dont get the rights to the parts

Carbon fiber lip kits are going to get PWNS by parking blocks and curbs, even if special care is taken. You're talking about gettign something made out of carbon fiber which is getting more expensive and harder to come by these days in the first place, and then trying to sell it to a forum where group buys never happen and people back out of things all the time, I'm shocked even the renova grille thing went thru. Maybe people are interested, but I'll put down money that says this don't happen, and not only that, but is forgotten about within a few months.

if it doesnt go thru ill just it worked on for myself or find someone to make me a custom urethane lip

$550 each and price goes down when more is bought that was for 10 pc run lowest it would have been was $450 but that requires too many trunks
