http://www.autoanything.com/air-intakes ... 7A0A0.aspx

It says it is compatible with the 4cylinder. Does anyone here have it and is it easy to install? How much horsepower gain would I get? And do you know any other place to buy it from for less than $230?

Thanks, and sorry if this is an amateur question, I'm new to the car world :)

I do not have a direct answer for your 4cyl question. But I would suggest you to introduce yourself in the introduction section at the top of the home page. :)

Honestly, do a search for INJEN and part number for you engine type. I have injen short ram on my i4 (5sfe). I like it but my family really hates it (that why wifee doesn't drive my car). It all depends on what you really want and what you really seek. It makes marginal improvements in power but it sounds good! (LOL). I think if you look in the FS sections here you can get a used one for a good price. Then just go buy yourself a new K&N filter and your set IMO.

FYI, its not a cold air, its a short ram.

I can check stock, what year is your car? 4cyl I presume.

It'll fit,
Injen and weapon r are the only two co. that i kno of that makes intakes for the gen 1 4cyl solara.

research the forum about performance, there have been numerous post about it. you wont be happy with the results. it's hard to get noticable power with the 5sfe unless go turbo or SC.

note: there isn't any aftermarket cold air intake for the 4cyl as far as i'm concern. they'll all short ram; you can get a custom one made if you really want it.
