----------------------------------------------
simple question..

can u install aftermarket springs without changing struts/coilovers?
my car has 115k miles. im just looking to lower the car.
and when/if i buy the springs, do they come in a set of 4?

ive looked at performancecenter.com and i selected "vehicle specific" springs and the total price came to about 200-250 dollars? is that price right?? for set of 4??

thanks. sorry for being a noob still. still learning.

YEs you can install aftermarket springs with out changing struts. But since your struts have 115k they blow even faster with springs that have a drop to them. If you do a drop you dont cheap out, b/c it will come back to bite you in the *** and you will end up spending twice as much . Yes they do come in a set of four

yep, you can install spring on stock struts.

yep, when you buy them theyll come in a set of 4, unless specified otherwise.

200-250 seem about right if youre buying eibachs. teins are around $180.

no you dont need coilovers. thats a different thing.
all you need to drop it are springs. new struts are good if you want more performance, etc... but you dont need them.
coilovers are struts and springs which you can adjust. you would use these for better performance/racing, etc...

^ oh thanks man. i was misinformed by a few ppl at a tunershop that i need coilovers. :(

anyone know a good webiste where i can buy good springs/struts? should I get all tein? or what. becuse i know there is a few posts out there with ppl debating but im honestly open to anything at the moment.

I looked at performancecenter.com (where I bought my injen) under "vehicle specific ---> is that stuff actually vehicle specific?? because it seems like they sell almost the same stuff for ANY kind of car...
dont want to get something that is "universal".

because the kind that im looking at right now that sells both springs/struts is this:

http://www.performancecenter.com/produc ... 1/0/Toyota

any feedback on that product?

that shop doesnt know sh*t.
i bought my teins on ebay. you can also find eibachs there.

i think with teins ans eibachs it comes down to personal pref.
teins lower your car more in the front than the back. eibachs lower your car more in the back than in the front.
theyre both great companies, youll be happy either way.

p.s. TRD springs are made by eibach.

Ebay has good prices (but look out for the fake tein springs) it also depends on how much of a drop you want
Tein S-techs are ABOUT Front 2.2 and Rear 2.5
Tein H-techs are ABOUT Front 1.5 and rear 1.2
Dont rember the exact number ( ITS DIFF ON ALL MODELS i went by 99 maxima with s techs. and my old 00 accord with h techs SPECs
you can get any kinda off struts I have a couple of friends that have GYB GR2 with S techs
I got Monroe Struts
Its all up to you and what kinda of ride and drop you want

Heres a full kit great price nad NEw

springs and struts installed might be a bit over $200. depending on where you live and which shop you go to. ask around locally for prices.

go to google and type in solara tein springs and youll find tons of places to buy them. same for eibach.
