TRD struts tightness

TRD struts tightness

Postby ReaDY-SeT-Go » Sun Feb 11, 2007 10:49 pm

hey guys i just installed some TRD struts with the springs before i just had the springs on stock struts and that lowered my car less than 1 inch in the back and 1 inch the front but the struts were hella weak so it was really bouncy... but now with the TRD struts in place... looks like i gained 2 inches in the back and 3 inches in the front like its close to stock look again so im like WTF?! :o and the tightness is seriously a really tight drive like its giving me motion sickness.... any good advice to fix this up?? im planning on letting everything settle till the end of this week... i liked my car being slammed low... so if everything doesnt settle to great i might just swap it back to stock struts... and sway all over the place :drinking: any ideas on how i can fix these TRD strut tightness and drop height??

well i have TRD rears with Tokico fronts. i used to like the ride, but now i find it soft.

when i had TRD's all around, i thought it was stiff as well. but now comparing it to TRD rear and tokico front, TRD all around was great.

Well I got mine aligned a 3 days after I installed my suspension. I'll go back sometime in a few days to get it redone. I got it done at Merchants Tire (already looked, and their not in CA) but I bought a 3 year, unlimited mile alignment so i can take it back every month...every week if I want to, it was $130. I would look for a place like that in your area. My stering wheel did vibrate at 70 a few months back, ended up being my rotors. It could also be your tires need balancing...?

Where in SD do you live? I was born on Coronado, miss the area :(

Yeah, my dad's military, I was born there, and then revisited for about a year. Went to Coronado HS for...hummm...7th grade, the year pokemon was the craze :) lol

But with your question, try swapping back to 'TRD' and letting them settle in, which ive heard is about a week. If it wasent shaking at high speed when you had it stock I would try to get it aligned, maybe find one of those unlimited alignments for a year or two. Which is usually cheaper then bringing it in a few times anyways.

PS, I dont know that much about stuff, i just read about it and do it.
