Uneven Drop With New Springs

Looking for some advice!!

I installed a set of lowering springs on my 01 Solara. The rear tire is now tucked under the fender, while the front has a 1 1/2" gap.

I did notice the height of the fenders is naturally not even, the rear is cut a little lower.

Is this common having different gaps?

What brand did you use? And it is common with some springs.

Yeah, its the springs, Cheap-brand, I have never heard of them... For that price you could have gotten some Eibach, TRD, or Tein for your car.... which seems to be the popular springs for these guys but are also known to be some top quality springs (They are the only top quality springs made for the solara).

Good Luck, The only thing I suggest and it is Ghetto but it works, cutting a dead coil of the front to make it even, or consider that money wasted and look for one of these better sets.

Where can you get Eibach, TRD, or Tein for that price??

I did ask a few people who refered me to this company...they said that CM Motorsports produces the springs for the big names. They do offer a satisfaction guarantee. I just wasn't sure if the uneven drop is common on our car.

Do bump stops have to do with that though? Did you forget to cut one?

I didn't cut any bump stops, I wasn't sure if I needed to. The bump stops fit around the strut shaft on our car, it isn't dropped enough to bottom out while sitting. The bump stops will only hit on hard bounces while driving.

They shouldn't affect the way the car sitts while parked correct?

Thats why I said Im not totally sure. But those springs are garbage, buy some TEINs and try to resell those for cheaper then anyone else to make back your money.

You say they are garbage, do you know that for sure? I'm not saying they are good or bad, I just know that a lot of products can quickly become the best or the worst just through hear-say.

I noticed Tien Springs have a 1.6-inch Drop Front And 1.4-inch Drop Rear. Might this be because the car nuturally sits lower in the rear

Wow i feel bad for you.. yes what you said about the drop is correct.. the front end will sit a lil higher with stock springs.. Next time do some research, see if you can send those springs back to them

Well we just know brands on this forum beacsue their tried and true, a lot of people have them so we know there good. We hear a lot about these 'not well known' brands and all people do is complain about them so somthing has to be wrong.

The TEIN have this 'staggered' drop cause naturally there is more weight in the front of your car because of the engine. I have springs right now, and there both suppose to be 1.25" drops and the car still sits lower in the front then in the rear. TEINs have more of a drop but still lower more in the front to give a more aggressive look.
