Blackhousing/Blackout Headlights?

Blackhousing/Blackout Headlights?

I've searched around but couldn't find the details. Looked up vvti; they have bunch of "rolla" drivers(that's what they call their cars) who have done it, however, Can't Seem TO Find THE dETAILS on how they did it!!!!

Does anyone here have a suggestion and would you guys think it looks cool?

I do want to go for the s15 conversion later on(like in my next lifetime) $$$$$ :o ), but mine's an 03, don't know if that'll be the right match in size.

Also! If you guys know how to DIY it, then please let me know. Thanks for reading.

If you are talking about blacking out your head/tail lights, I do believe that GTS makes a kit for the Solara. I think that I saw one on the Summit Racing website, but I can't be sure. It's not exactly my cup of tea, but hey, it's your car.

Some cars have a blackout kit. At one point there were headlight covers but i don't think they're sold anymore. They looked terrible anyways.

I've seen a guy on sounddomain use VHT Nightshades to darken up the tails, it lookd pretty good. I'll look for the link

Sorry! Let me clarify what I'm asking...

Blackhousing...not Blackouts (i just realized that people use them randomly not knowing the difference.....like me)...

I want to paint the interior frame of the headlights black. U kno how the silvia and the skyline have the black rim around the headlights. I was wondering if our cars would look good like that. The 02-03 (i'm assuming) would be better to try this because the headlight cover is crystal clear.

Let me know what you guys think. If I can get some diy instruction and approval, I'll do it and show you guys pics when i'm done.

If you're daring, you can split open the headlight casing and spray paint the interior. But trying to make a black housing for the Solara headlights really wouldnt look as good as the Corolla or Gen5 Camry. The reason being is...if you look at the housing...it's rectangular..and the light reflector is about the same shape...unlike the circular style of the Camry or Corolla. It's up to you, personally it would look kinda out of place since the design really doesn't flatter the light housing.
