Suspension Question?

I have the Eibach/Tokico combo and I have always noticed that the rear seems to sit a little higher then the front. Since the Eibachs are 1.6 drop front/rear is the back sitting higher because of the natural stance of the car. Is the back higher or am I just seeing things?

Hmm, that's funny, I have always noticed the front of many Solaras are higher than the rear with the Tokico/Eibach setup.
Yeah, I've owned 2 Solaras so.............................Image

that is the primary goal of eibach's pro-kit. no clue why, but all their springs for pro-kit stage are deliberatly higher in the front than the rear.
less travel in the rear and more mobility in the front to take road driving.

i think its cuz the front fenders are naturally higher. so the drop is actually even, but the gap is bigger in the front.

isnt it true that a stock solara sits high in the rear while the front is normal height? well i think that is why the eiback pro kit is 1.6 rear and 1.2 front...the point of the eibach kit is to level off the car...(if i remember correctly) L8r moe :evilbat:

Yeah I think it is true. Mine is still stock and at certain angles, you could really see how high the rear goes compared to the front. Maybe its the design or maybe it's just how the stock setting is.

True, until you lower the car. And in my case the back sits lower due to a sub box in the trunk.

The Eibach kit is 1.6 in the front and in the rear as well. So if the car at stock sits higher in the rear and you lower it the same 1.6 in front and back then the back is still going to sit higher, right? They should have made it 1.8 in the rear that way the car would be level. Of course some people might like that look but me personally I would rather the car be level. Also, I have a huge sub box in my trunk w/ 4 JL12W6's along with three big amps and I'm thinking that it all together might be an extra 250 to 300 pounds and it didn't make my car sit much lower if at all?

umm, hello!!!! You might want to do a little research on a subject if you intend to discuss it. You mentioned that the Eibach springs were 1.6 in the rear and 1.2 in the front. Well that happens to be wrong. Like I mentioned above the Eibach kit has 1.6 in the front and the rear. www.eibach.com

TRD advertises that their springs (which we all know are just eibachs) are 1.25" in the front and 1.75" in the rear. overall, its a 1.5" drop.

my estimate seems to be almost accurate...i knew eibach wouldnt make the same size drop for our rear and front ...think about it, our ride sits higher in the rear why would eibach make springs to keep it that way...

Go to the web site and look at the specs for yourself. It says in plain english 1.6 in the front and 1.6 in the rear. Why did Eibach make them the same in the front and the rear? Who knows, but they did. I really wish H&R made a spring for the Solara, it is by far the best spring on the market.
