Injen Intake connection issue.....

Injen Intake connection issue.....

Postby LatinDragonXJC » Thu Aug 28, 2008 9:52 am

Quick question(s) for you intake experts, I swapped out my OEM intake with the Injen intake. The intake came with 2 tubes, 3 vaccuum ports. The last port, circled below, I can't seem to find a loose hose to stick to that one. I checked my OEM intake, none hanging off that one.

Is it a hose I need to add?

Is it hanging somewhere in my engine and I just don't know?

And what are the dangers of driving without that connection?

I forget what it's called, but there's a little fitting that hose connects to right near the fuel filter.

Thanks Akfahad.

What exactly do those vaccum hoses do?

I hear a loud whistle now when I start the car, after it's warmed up it is fine.

I'm at work, picoodle is blocked. Let me remote into my home machine. :evilbat:

*edit*

THANKS!.....tell me if I'm right. that thick tube I circled is the one that goes into the intake? Just seems odd since the actual vacuum port is pretty small. And just to make sure, that I'm looking at things the right way, are my arrows OK? lol

:D I'm at work and slightly bored, MSPaint is my friend.

Haha yes your arrows are correct. That is the connection to the intake you have squared off. I used the existing hose and bought that clamp on the intake end to make sure no air leaks. Hope this helps :)

Found it! thanks guys. It was just hanging out there. The clamp was missing. Like Viet said, nothing really after flooring, I used a zip tie for now to tighten the connection.

I'll let me car cool down to see of the idle changes with that hose in place now.
