I read in one of these forums that intakes can make ur car lose some initial power...is that tru for CAI's? or is that only for short ram intakes? Also, i live in houston where the weather gets pretty dam scorching; will the cold air be as effective in the climate i live in?

Unless your outside temperature exceeds 250 degrees F it should be cooler.

I need to raise my posting tier that's why, nah nah just joke! :)

Back on topic, the CAI has had fuel issues, not enough usually so hopefully Xerd's design is just right to solve that problem.

CIA prob

Postby ..... » Sun Sep 07, 2003 7:20 pm

I put a CAI on my car and ive lost a ton of low end power. Before I could punch it from a stand still an burn a lil rubber , now it just boggs  and I dont feel am Hp increase till 3500- 4000 rpm. For example i can drop it to first doing 30 mph and the tires will break loose. Did I install the think wrong? Am i losein vaccum of something? Any suggestions?

in order to get high-end HP, you will always lose some low-end torque.

Ive found out if you stomp it with a cai from take off the car will bogg but if you punch it about mid way down the theres alot of "hidden power off take off. I found this out 2 or 3 weeks ago when my girl grabed the inner part of my leg and pinched me at a stop light. I punched the gas bout mid way down and good God I layed quite a bit of rubber :o .... and yelled like a lil girl
