True, whatever floats your boat
i kinda detest the 5 spoke wheels or the SUV looking fat ones and also the ones that are plush (Where the spokes touch the egde, i like some space between the edge of the wheel and the placement of the spokes i.e. i like a small lip on the wheel).

For the poll why is there 2 Hots and 2 Nots? Anyways I like the rims, get them in 18's...as for the tires, I dunno...not really liking how the tread looks. You should check out some Kumho tires, they are cheap and look nice.

well i wanted to update my post, so i did an edit. first time around it didnt show me the poll in edit. when i posted, the poll was lost. so i edited again, added the poll and now there are 2 polls!! :drinking: hopefully ppl can still vote!

well i know the treads are kinda funky, but after extensive research, the seem to be the best of what i am lookng for. my other option was bridgestone turanza ls-h.. check out tirerack survey results
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/uhpas.jsp

I'm thinking about going with those tires as well, only in 215/50/17 size, so tell me how they are if you put em on. I never liked that design on the solara for the rims, but hey, if you like it, then thats what counts.

Rims are ok... not what I would choose.

All weather tires = crap.

Sucks in rain, sucks in snow, sucks in dry (compared to summer tires in dry and wet, and compared to snow tires in snow)

Good point.
However I drive on freway 98% of the time. (everyday 30 miles on freeway) here in LA on 101 and 405. I have exactly 4 turns on that road
i do ocassionaly go to mammoth, big bear but i do SF and Las Vegas way more.

Bottomline: i need a tire that lasts, is more than decent on dry roads and kinda decent on wet roads. None of the summer tires have a UTQG rating over 340. infact 340 is the extreme, most of them are 200 or 220.

low UTQG = less tread life, though more grip.

i am ready to sacrifice a bit of grip for a great tread life. ContiextremeContact has UTQG of 400 :fadein: . the way i drive, it should atleast last me 55K + :bday: unlike my protenzas which go bald in 35K (they have a UTQG of 160!!!

if you're thinking about that knock-off TSW, get the real BBS 2-piece wheels. much nicer than the TSW's
