Someone had issues a few years ago with the cheap ebay headers not lining up. Spend some more money and go with OBX.

I know they are cheap but save the coins and get these. But make sure your rear motor mount is good first.

Didn't people had leaking/cracking issues with OBX headers? I remember a whole thread about it.

I believe a lot of that came from worn rear engine mounts causing stress in a bad area. In know my custom stainless Y pipe also had that issue.

ditto ^

The EGR pipe cracked off my rear header. It is because the flange on the rear header would vibrate up against the cross section on the frame of my car. Hard to say if it was because of a bad motor mount, because it still happened after I got my poly mount put in, but not as bad.

Quick fix for that... take a drill or something under the car and use it on the thin plate piece that comes down over the cross section. that will create enough clearance to prevent the flange from vibrating against the frame. at least it did for me. it wasn't hard to do, i'm handy, but i'm no mechanic.

if you buy the OBX headers and you have the same vibrating problem, just don't do what I did and let it continue for a few months. that was stupid of me. just take the drill and fix it and you shouldn't have to worry about cracking.

thanks fellas, much appreciated, i think im gonna go with Midas' advice and save up for the OBX and do SirThomas' drill thing as soon as i can afford them. Now based on your own experiences how much of a difference did you guys feel before and after the headers?

The difference really depends on if you are N/A or got a supercharger. I got mine installed before I got my supercharger in so I didn't notice much gain. I'm sure if I had my supercharger in before I got my headers I would have been able to notice a lot more.

As far as the drilling, yeah, if your headers don't have good clearance like mine it's really no big deal to do and there's no risk of screwing anything up. The exhaust material is much stronger than the metal that you want to take away from that cross section. And you only need to take off like an 1/8" deep of metal in about a half inch wide section.
