TRD boost gauge questions...and supercharger question...

Maybe this topic discussed before...but anyways..

does the one for tacoma, tundra or 4 runner 's boost gauge will exactly fit on the solara?

Since I did some serach and saw the 10psi are recommended, where I can find it for cheap price...?

About the charger, does the spark plug needs to be taken off to do the install?

The low budget way to make friends to the chrager are 6 Denso I22 plugs and the NGK wires?

Please help..thanks...oh..please welcome me to the s/c family.. :D

As far as I know the boost gauge for the tundra and 4runner work for the Solara too. Raycarlo has it on his panel. Now as far as the gauge pod for the trucks, it doesnt fit flush on our panel. I recommend getting the dual or single gauge pod from autometer. www.egauges.com

You do not need to remove the plugs for the SC but I do recommend the Denso Iridium plugs that you mentioned. I'm not too familiar with the wires but I have upgraded those as well with Vitek wires.

Any boost gauge will do.
But only TRD has 10psi (So far I know) others is 20 psi, too small reading for our SC.

Yup, change ur plug to colder one.

Also start filling up w/ premium and use injector cleaner b4 install the SC.
Welcome to SC! :D 8)

Hey DavePak..does the Celica GTS use Ik22 as OEM spark plug? How much the dealer charge for each piece? I think I'm going to dealer to install the charger tomorrow, if the celica us the IK22 plug, I might as well get it from the dealer and install it. Also, what's the hour for the service dept open on staurday usually?

The celica would not use IK22s for stock. Those are completely overkill for a stock car

i didn't believe it either ross, but they are IK22's stock on a GT-S VVTL-i engine.
i think they're like $9 each, but expect to pay ~$11.00 each.

every dealer sets their own saturday hours. mine is open normal hours, 7.30am-4pm.
many are only open 'til noon on saturdays.

Ok, S/C installed, but guess what? I left my car at the dealer at 8:30 AM, the car is not done until 8PM...the service department was closed at 4:30pm...so the mechanic had to stay and finish the job since I really need the car back. When the job was done, the mech told me that the instructions are for the 1st gen charger...I got the 2nd gen, so u know what i mean..some instructions are missing on the manual...I waited at the dealer for 5 hours...watched tv..watched the whole CAL football game, news..read the newspapaer over and over again...after I just chit chat with the service manager till the car is finish...(he had to stay)...over time~ ...

Anyway, the service manager test drove with me right after it's done...man...when i stepped on the gas...that winning noise started and I knew it's coming...the excitment at that time was just can't even describe it...It's great...real great....he said that next time he will hook me up on adding the poterfield brakepads and the SSR lines...

About the spark plug...I still don't get it why it won't fit...maybe the 1mfze engine is a bit different on the 02-03 v6? The mech told me about the double tip thing on the spark plug so it wont' fit or something...anyone can answer this? Man I need to go back to autozone and return it without a receipt since I have no use to the plugs now....
