TRD Sport Muffler - v6 only?

TRD Sport Muffler - v6 only?

Postby SolaraT » Sat Jan 03, 2004 9:17 pm

Ok. After numerous searching I have not found this discussed prior. Here is the Million Dollar question.

Will the TRD Sport Muffler for the Gen1 Solara fit the 5SFE model? My gut tells me yes because I think the muffler hook-up looks identical but would like the observations of others.

I have seen many sites that sell it and some specify (V6) and some don't. I want that one cause I can install it easy. (Bolt on)

Please help.

Thanks,
Louis

Blaze has the Apexi WS. I just know this because I copied him :D. I guess imitation is the best form of flattery.

Yanks is right the TRD muffler will fit also, because the exhaust paths are the same for the V6 and I4 :).

Cool. I'm going to get one next month. Anywhere I can get it for under $300.00? So far I have reviewed many sites and I only came up with toyotaparts4u.com @ $335.00

Hey Ultra,
Well it says it will give only 2-3 HP so thats not much anyway. These others will give more then that your saying? If so then I might consider paying a little more.

I'm not realy expecting much from a replacement muffler.

I do like the catback systems; however, are those not to hard to install? i.e. (Bolt-on) or major cutting and modification involved? I want to do this myself.

Thanks,
Louis

They're not hard to install. I installed a skunk2 cat-back for my friend in his civic Si. Took about 40 minutes, 3 beers and some jack stands.

Cat-Backs are easy to install. Hardest part is breaking the bolts on the old exhaust :D.

Actually the taking the bolts off were pretty easy (for me) :D

The hardest part for me was taking the exhaust off from those rubber hangers!!! Make sure to spray WD-40 inside those hangers before trying to take off your exhaust.

Indiana road salt, rust everything solid :D. Good pointer on the hangers, I did that as well. Anyway, it's really simple to install one like I said before. If you want, Louis, I can send you some pics of my Apexi WS install, so you can see what you would be looking at.
