What air filter cleaner do you use for the Injen filters?

I thought injen would have one but they don't.

Yeah it sux that Injen doesnt have one. Before I had the Injen intake I had a TRD drop in, and I had the "TRD filter speedclean kit" that I purchased at the dealership service/parts department. So I figured using that for the Injen air filters would work, so far so good. :D

You can just use the K & N cleaner, it works fine. Should be able to pick it up at any automotive store.

you're supposed to clean the filter? :o

i have the HKS type mushroom filter, so i just take it off, soak it in water, ring out the dirt, let it dry and re-mount.

Thats a no no, you need the cleaning kit with the solution and oily thing. The solution to get the dirt and grime out and the oily thing to put on the filter, so it doesnt let the very small particles of dirt go through the filter.

I have a Weapon R Dragon Intake w/ a foam filter and I wouldn't recommend it. Its extremely (to a fault) free flow and I can't find cleaning stuff for it any where and its a pain to change the filter element. Speaking of that does anyone know where I can find the oil for the foam filter? Can I use the oil for the K&N filter? I would guess not but I just can't find oil anywhere and I'm getting nervous driving this long w/ an un oiled foam filter.
Nascar would be a sport if half the cars were driving the other direction.

Depends, you cant really know without inspecting your filter. Ive been cleaning my filter and oiling it every 8,000 miles, I also dont use the regular Injen air filter that came with my intake, I bought a bigger K&N cone filter and it doesnt get as dirty as fast as the Injen filter.

I thought about replacing the Injen cone filter too with a K&N, is there a difference between the two, other than the fact that it stays cleaner? Thanks.

Yeah I wanted to know about cleaning it but also replacing it with something else because I stretched it out to its max to fit over the CAI extension piece. My filter is 2.50" to fit over a 2.50" opening. I need at least a 2.75" filter now to fit snug and can be used to its full potential.

I want something that has an opening on the top of the filter since the filter is now facing down to get the air below. Weapon-R has one that’s kind of nice. Weapon-R also has its own foam cleaning kit.

The K&N I used to replace my Injen filter is bigger and with the opening on the top you are talking about. I think it works better than the Injen filter since you get air from the top and not just from the sides.

Any recomendations on where I can get one like that?

Autozone will order it for you if they dont have one in stock (which they usually dont). The K&N part number for the filter I have is RX-4950.

NOTE: This K&N filter will probably only fit the Injen intake for the 4 cyl. If you have the V6 measure the circumference of your intake piping and Autozone will find the right size for you.
